Available Domain Names: Pet Dating

Dating services are extremely popular.  Pets are also extremely popular.  Put the two together and you have pet dating!  It sounds a little ridiculous to me, but there are some major pet dating sites out there.  Here is a list of available domain names in case you wish to capitalize on this niche market:

Available Domain Names: AGE Theme

Periodically, I will post lists of available domain names that reflect a given theme.  Today’s theme is AGE.  With America’s population aging, age-related services will become more and more in demand.  There are some pretty interesting domain names in this list.  Just click on the name to check availability and order.

Voodoo.com Dominates the Domainer Mardi Gras

Voodoo.com dominated the Domainer Mardi Gras last week selling for $300,000.

It in fact sold for more than the sum total of all the other sold domains!

I must say that I can’t see why it would sell for $300K.  The only way I can imagine this is if it were bought up by the people at voodoopc.com They specialize in custom gaming consoles.  With gaming challenging the movie industry in terms of income, they might have paid such a price for this domain name.

Chef Patrick’s Video Blogs on Domaining

Today I stumbled across the video news blogs from Chef Patrick.  These are now sponsored at Domaining.com in the upper right-hand corner of the screen under What Happened This Week.

These are also archived on Chef Patrick’s site.

I found these news clips to be very helpful.  Chef Patrick informs us on recent domain name sales and gives us his thoughts on the potential of the domain name as well his assessment of its value.

Enjoy!

Useful Plug-Ins for Wordpress Blogs

Jamie Zoch at DOTWeekly has a useful article where he lists the plug-ins he finds to be critical for all of his blogs:

FCKeditor
PageLinksTo
TwitterTools
Sociable
Headspace2
Subscribe To Comments

You should go to his blog to see his detailed comments on each plug-in.

I myself would add to that list Wordpress.com Stats.
While Google Analytics provides in-depth information, often as a blogger, its either too much or not quite the information you need.  The Wordpress Stats plug-in gives you statistics that you care about.

Last, I recommend getting your own good domain name, and using ICDSoft for Web Hosting.  I have used ICDSoft for over five years now and I have never been happier with a service provider PERIOD.  They have 24-7 support, and usually resolve the issue within an hour.  Oftentimes, they have even fixed my code!

Toys R Us Acquires Toys.com for $5.1 Million!

Toys “R” Us won the auction for Toys.com with a winning bid of $5.1 Million!

This is an excellent acquisition by Toys “R” Us rivalling that of Johnson & Johnsons Baby.com

DomainNameNews writes:

The final blow by Toys”R”us was a $5,100,000 bid that trumped National A1’s $5,000,000 bid.  Up until this point, the 2 bidders were volleying back and forth with $5,000 bid increments and dragging out the process by requesting breaks before putting in their counter bids.  The auction started at 1pm CST and drug on until about 4:25 pm
